Oh no! I am devastated. Just as I was about to eulogise about Mohamed Nasheed and congratulate the Maldivian people for having such a go-ahead president, I find out that he was deposed last month.
It's true, I have only known Nasheed for 100 minutes and within that time he has seemed not only to be fiercely intelligent but a sincere man of the people.
This seemed to stem from the fact that he spent years fighting against a dictator who sponsored torture away from the yes of the rich tourists.
Finally, he and his democracy movement grabbed power and his first task was to persuade the world's nations to take action on the climate change which has threatened to cause the sea to rise to levels which will drown his whole country.
Film-maker Jon Shenk has incredible access to the likeable leader as he trades punches with leaders of much bigger nations at the world climate change conference in Copenhagen.
He is in mighty impressive form during the key meetings but it is humility in the more off guard moments which really struck me.
How many times would you catch a world leader snatching a crafty ciggie behind the building where the future of the planet was being discussed?
Perhaps it was this laidback style which was his undoing.
Either way, his ejection from office probably makes this a much more important documentary.
It is a typical Dogwoof film. Enlightening and entertaining.
