Still catching up with my reviews after a bonanza weekend in which I have ticked off no less than nine of this year's movie releases.
Mrs W was particularly looking forward to seeing the all-star wrinkly line-up in John Madden's Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
This shouldn't surprise me considering the fact that this is the year she qualifies for Saga holidays!
Thus, we traipsed along for the 11.10pm showing at Nottingham Cineworld.
And, I guess the best that could be said about it was that it kept the missus and me fully awake until 1.35am (it's two hours long plus the ads).
While Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is very gentle comedy, it certainly provoked several laugh out loud moments from us (Mrs W was responsible for a couple of particularly high volume guffaws).
Ultimately, though, it could not go wrong in the hands of such a superb British line-up.
What's it about? Well seven mature men and women book into this retirement home in Jaipur after seeing attractive advertisements on the net.
The only problem is that when they arrive it isn't quite as they hoped.
Nevertheless, they are persuaded to stay by the super eager manager (Dev Patel) and embark on a voyage of self-discovery.
Judi Dench, Tom Wilkinson, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Penelope Wilton, Celia Imrie and Ronald Pickup are the old fogies who have all fled to India to escape sadness or loneliness.
Some find answers in India but some don't.
But while pathos is a key ingredient of the movie so is comedy and there are some cracking lines, superbly executed.
Dench, Wilkinson and Smith are the pick of the bunch, all managing to use every minute of screen time to best effect while being sublimely understated.
Mind you, I must admit that even as old as I am (not quite as ancient as Mrs W) I baulked at a potential romance between Dame Judi and Nighy.
As well as the oldies, I ought to mention Patel. He was a whirlwind of enthusiasm but now I think he needs a major role which doesn't involve a Brit/India crossover script. I just wondered that with this and Slumdog on his CV, he might be getting a little typecast.
That said, it is the type of performance which should enhance his career prospects.
Laughs: five out loud and lots of sniggers
Jumps: none
Vomit: none
Nudity: a carry-on moment involving Dev's girlfriend but she was strategically covered up.
Overall rating: 8/10
