It's been easily the most difficult week for everyfilmin2011.
On Monday, Mrs W's sister died after a long fight against cancer.
The distress which has hung over the family can be imagined by anyone who has suffered loss. Frankly, watching the pictures is a complete irrelevance at such a time.
Yet I was torn. Should I have not watched anything and not posted out of respect?
If so, when would have been a suitable time? And what could we do instead? Just stare at each other?
I didn't go to cinema for four days but I did keep blogging thanks to the supply of DVD screeners which are provided to me by generous movie distributors'
We returned to the big screen on Friday to kick off a surreal weekend in which we saw, wait for it JLS Live 3D, Kung Fu Panda 2 and Prom!
In between those movies we experienced the Race For Life. My sister-in-law's daughters joined the family in the cancer fund-raiser. It was an amazing and cathartic experience.
So, after all of that, I did watch 11 films, some good (Rio Breaks was the best of the week) and some bad...Redemption finds a place in the bottom 10 of the year so far.
By the way, there has been a rejig at the bottom because I had misplaced American Orgy previously.
So, here are the running top ten and bottom 10 and thank you all again for reading.
Best
